Thankful for Leftovers and Game Night Party

Celebrating the Everyday, Entertaining  //

Happy Sunday!  We hope everyone is enjoying a FABULOUS weekend with family and friends!  We have so many fun and exciting posts coming up this week on our blog that we just had to share an extra fun bonus Sunday post with ya’ll. We will be sharing all sorts of recipes and DIY projects throughout the week so be sure to check back often.

Ahh Thanksgiving!  It is definitely one of our favorite holidays.  Especially since we bought our first home and decided to host Thanksgiving as a couple.  For the past four years, we have been sharing our love of everything Turkey with our family.  But cooking Thanksgiving often leaves us with tons of leftovers and no idea what to do with them.  So this year, we decided to plan ahead and came up with a fun way to enjoy the leftovers with our friends …

“Thankful for Leftovers and Game Night Dinner Party” by Liz and Ryan

If you are hosting Thanksgiving and you are anything like us, then you will most likely end up with a ton of leftovers. This year we wanted to be creative and think of a fun way to share our leftovers. So we came up with a Leftovers Game Night Dinner Party for our friends that you can create too.

Hosting Thanksgiving is definitely a lot of work so we wanted to make sure we kept things simple.  With just a little gold spray paint, glitter, board games, and supplies you can pick up at Home Goods or Michael’s, you can create a super fun way to celebrate Thanksgiving with friends.

Start the evening off with your favorite board games and cocktails.  For us, that means pulling out two of our favorites, Scrabble and Monopoly.  When you “pass go” be sure to mix up some of your favorite fall drinks such as a Caramel Apple Cider Martini.

Next spice up the leftover turkey sandwiches with a little blue cheese, cranberry relish and arugula, and stuff the stuffing in red bell peppers.  Finally turn the left over pumpkin pie into one of the most AMAZING milkshakes ever.

This party could be turned into a couple’s date night or just a fun evening with friends.  No matter what, it will be a full of laughter and tasty Thanksgiving leftovers.  And that is something to be thankful for.

Southern Weddings V5 Party! Sweeter than a peach, y’all

Date Nights, Life in Love  //

As Ryan tied his bowtie and I got all dolled up and put on my sparkly heels for our special date night, we chatted about how excited we were to be right there in that room. We had just had our first glance at the Southern Weddings V5… and it was nothing short of magical!

V5 is extra magical, my friends. Like extra extra magical! The Southern Weddings V5 magazine has one of our photos in it! ;) But not just any one of our photos… it has a photo of MeMe and Brooke! (yes, my MeMe and my cousin Tony’s wife!) I can’t even tell you how exciting that is for us! Yes, it would be amazing if it was any one of our photos because the magazine is GORGEOUS and it is such an honor to be a part of such a beautiful inspiration guide about love! ;) However, looking through the magazine and seeing my grandmother and my cousin’s wife sharing such a special moment together makes us do a happy dance x 1 million! ;) It is better than biscuits and gravy y’all! ;)

Last night we walked into a room of sparkly amazingness ready to celebrate with the fabulous ladies at Southern Weddings and so many other people who passionately believe “Love Never Fails!”! We walked into a room full of about 200 people we have never met… but we immediately felt like family! We were greeted with open arms and warm hugs!… ohh and did I mention, smiles that literally lit up the room?!?  ;) We played cornhole, had fun in the photobooth, danced alongside the Blooomsbury Boys (the sweetest Bluegrass Band ever!), ate all kinds of southern treats, met new friends while enjoying time with old friends, and walked away with hearts fuller than ever!

It meant so so so much to us to be able to be there to support Lara Casey and the rest of the Amazing ladies at Southern Weddings! And to celebrate alongside Brooke and Tony was sweeter than a peach!! ;) Ok ya’ll, we are still working on our southern phrases, but lets just say… we had such a perfect date night!

(pardon the iphone pics! ;) )

Friday Favorites: A Few Things that Make our Lives more AMAZING

Celebrating the Everyday, Friday Favs  //

Happy Friday! Today we are doing things a little differently for our Friday Favorites blog post.  Instead of sharing just one of our favorite things, we wanted to share a few things that have recently made our lives just a little more AMAZING. Without further adieu…

Friday Favorites: A Few Things that Make our Lives more AMAZING

What are some of the things that have helped make your lives a little more AMAZING recently?  We’d love to hear you answers!

Love Story: Susan and Fred’s Rustic Field Engagement Session

Engagement, Love, Stories Documented  //

For some, it may be “just” a hill. But for Susan and Fred, this is a hill where their dreams will one day come true. Since Susan’s early days, her parents have owned this property. And since that day, Susan has dreamed of living in a home on the hill.

As Susan and Fred make the final decisions that lead up to their wedding day, they have something extra special in the back of their minds. Their dream of starting a family and building a home on this hill is getting closer to reality each and every day.

Susan and Fred… we are so excited to have been able to spend our afternoon with you on this very special hill and we can’t wait to come back in the future and visit this very special home of yours! ;)

Love Story: Kara and Mike’s Baltimore Wedding

Love, Stories Documented, Wedding  //

They were nervous. This was the day they had been planning and dreaming about for quite some time. Their family and friends traveling from Pittsburgh, Erie, and Hawaii and all over the place were going to be in the same place at the same time celebrating their love together! They spent the morning practicing their vows and preparing for that moment they have waited their whole lives for.

As they made their final preparations and could see each other from afar, their nerves quickly turned to all out excitement. Mike was giddy. Seriously, he was ready to jump up and down with excitement. Their smiles grew bigger and bigger as they realized this moment had finally come.

Together, with all of their family and friends in one place, they were ready to vow their love to each other and get the celebration started!

Kara and Mike… we had a blast witnessing your love and joy on your wedding day! You bring each other so much happiness and it radiates through your smiles! Thank you for sharing that joy with us and giving us the opportunity to capture it for a lifetime to come! We wish you nothing but the very best!

Huge thanks to everyone who played a role in making Kara and Mike’s day so special!
