Love Story: Amy and Eric’s Rustic Chic Ellicott City Wedding

Leading up to their wedding, we pretty much screamed with excitement every single time we came across a Facebook update from Amy! ;) She hinted about the rustic chic details they were pulling together for their wedding and even showed a sneak peek of their cake toppers customized from Etsy, complete with a fireman’s hat for Eric and a cute bow for Amy. Both Amy and Eric were so excited for their big day that Ryan and I could not wait to be a part of the excitement!

As we walked into the bridal suite, we found ourselves surrounded by a super sweet bridal party who had nothing but excitement for Amy and Eric. There was a calmness in the air. A calmness that created relaxation.  Amy was so relaxed she kept asking everyone else if she could do anything for them! ;)… that is just Amy’s personality shining through!

Always caring about other people, it was amazing to witness a special day for Amy and Eric to focus only on each other! We are so incredibly excited for Amy and Eric.  From their rustic chic details to their sweet sweet personalities and the relaxed atmosphere… Amy and Eric’s day was like a dream! ;) Congratulations Amy and Eric! Thank you for giving us the opportunity to capture your love story! We wish you nothing but the very best now and forever!

Football, Crafts, & Cowboy Boots: Jenn and Ben’s Annapolis Engagement

Gosh, we are so blessed to have such amazing clients!  It is amazing how God works his magic and brings incredible people into your lives!  As we started to get to know Jenn and Ben, we instantly fell in love with them!

Jenn owns her own crafting company!  (enough said, right?!  ;) )  But in addition to her love of crafting, she is also just one of the sweetest people in the world!  Ben played football… kind of like Friday Night Lights style in his hometown in TX.  Then he made his way up to the second best Patriot League school in PA, Lehigh (haha… second of course to Bucknell!  ;) ), where he also played football.  As our conversation went on during the consultation, we realized Ben and Ryan actually played football against each other in college!  ;)  We won’t mention who won because my ranking comment earlier just won’t make any sense!… lol.  But small world right?!?

We also love when our amazing couples introduce us to fabulous new places!  Jenn and Ben introduced us to Sandy Point State Park last week.  Yes, yes, we have always seen the signs and admired the beaches from afar on our way to and from the Eastern Shore, but we never had the excuse to check it out!  (If you are reading this and you are in the same boat… I am giving you the excuse right now… go check it out!  ;) ).

Ben surprised Jenn one day by picking her up from work.  He had planned a special afternoon away from the craziness of life at Sandy Point.  Ben had gone over early to scout out the perfect spot.  He put the blanket down and was ready to pop the question.  As soon as Jenn got off work, he brought her over to the perfect spot he had picked out- only to find a family full of kids that also decided it was the perfect spot on the beach!  ;)  Suggesting they go for a walk, Ben didn’t skip a beat in making sure this special afternoon was everything they dreamed it to be!

We could not be more grateful to be able to capture this amazing time in Jenn and Ben’s lives!  Thanks Jenn and Ben for the amazing excuse to check out Sandy Point and to be able to share the afternoon with you!  You two are amazing!

Love Story: Dena and Kevin’s Old Mill Wedding

She stood inside a small room, out of sight of their guests as her father stood guard nearby. Soft tears began to form as her sister quickly tried to distract her.  Laugher followed but the tears quickly returned. Time moved slowly as the last few guests scurried to their seats. With each moment, the emotions become stronger, until at last, she whispered, “does this happen to all brides,” and laughter once again filled the air.  It was a perfect moment, and with a deep breath she was ready to walk down the aisle to her future husband.

The music changed and it was her turn to enter the church. As she approached, his face lit up with joy. Finally the moment had arrived in which he could call her his wife.  His smile was infectious and just a glimpse of it quickly turned the tears on her face into a bright smile full of love.  This moment was perfect, this moment they would be husband and wife.

Congratulations Dena and Kevin! Your wedding was beautiful and your reception was AMAZING! From the perfect venue to the candy apple favors, it was truly a night to remember! We hope you are enjoying your European adventures! We can’t wait to share the rest of your photos with you when you get back!

Love Story: Jennifer and Michael’s Linganore Winery Wedding

As she received the finishing touches to her makeup, a special delivery came to the room.    It was a little gray box with a perfect green bow attached.  The card spelled out Jennifer in Michael’s best handwriting!  ;)

As laughter filled the room and the ladies chatted about “girly things,” Jennifer held onto her special gift.  She held on tight just waiting for that special moment where she could take it all in and soak in the words that Michael had written to her.

As the tears rolled down her face everyone asked with excitement what was in the box.  She held it up with a big smile on her face.  “It’s a key.”  Jennifer explained that she always says she believes there is a key out there for every single person’s heart.  And she was lucky enough to find Michael, who held her key!

Jennifer and Michael rock our worlds!  Seriously, they made me cry during our initial consultation with them as they shared their AMAZING engagement story.  ;)  They live life passionately and when they are with each other it is literally like fireworks going off!  They are meant to be and we are certainly thankful that Michael held the key to Jennifer’s heart… and that they found each other!

Jennifer and Michael… THANK YOU for being YOU!  Thank you for your love and passion and for sharing that with us!  We love you guys and are so excited for your new lives together as Mr. and Mrs.!  CONGRATS!!

New Album Option! | The Couture Storybook Album

When this baby came in the mail, we literally jumped up and down. I ripped the box open and couldn’t wait to see the final product. We had been looking for an additional album option for quite some time. All the way back in March, we found ourselves searching the WPPI trade show floor for a beautifully classic album that would become an heirloom to tell the stories we photograph.

We found ourselves at the Couture Album booth multiple times throughout the conference. Each time our mouths dropped at the gorgeous options that were available. We loved the fact that every album was unique. We loved the fact that every album had over 150+ sides. And we loved the fact that every album was a piece of art. We could picture our clients placing these albums on their coffee tables and pulling them out regularly to relive their amazing memories with their family and friends!

With the launch of Liz and Ryan, we are focusing more and more on storytelling through our photography. It has become so clear to us that weddings are so much more than just a couple hour event in one day. Weddings are truly a lifetime in the making and often involve a multiple day celebration! To tell the entire story we created a collection in our wedding offerings that involves multiple day coverage! In the collection we’ve included a Couture Storybook Album because we feel these albums are the best way to keep all of the memories in one place! Beginning with 75 pages, these albums can hold over 150 images in a clean, crisp layout!

Here is a video sharing this beautiful album that made us jump up and down. The album holds Laura and Colin’s memories from their engagement session in DC, Laura’s dress fitting in Barcelona, Spain, and their wedding day in DC from earlier this year. Enjoy!
