Driving out Wallis Run Road in Montoursville, PA is something we have done many many times (as it is just miles from our homes where we grew up!). However, there was something different about the drive out Wallis Run on the day of Kellie and Matt’s wedding. As we drove the country road, it was as if we could see the leaves changing colors before our eyes. It was a crisp fall morning with low fog hanging around before the warm sun made its presence. I asked Ryan to slow down so that we could just take it all in!

There is something magical about PA in the fall… and something even more magical about photographing a PA Barn Wedding in the fall. However, photographing two AMAZING people whom we have known pretty much our whole lives (ok, at least since grade school!) as they promise forever to each other surrounded by a barn full of their closest family and friends (and many familiar faces for us!), is literally beyond magical.

Kellie and Matt are two people we have known separately growing up. Matt with his orange truck that is pretty much known by everyone in town! ;) The truck makes you smile as soon as you see it coming down the road… partly because the truck is just AMAZING (and recently completely beautifully restored by Matt and his dad!), and mostly because that means Matt is close by and he is one of those guys with a quiet personality that can light up any room! And Kellie… Kellie is the kind of girl who thinks about everyone else before she even begins to think about herself! She is so kindhearted and when faced with life’s challenges, she rolls through them with confidence and calmness. They are two incredibly beautiful individuals and together, they are one incredibly AMAZING couple!

It was such an honor for us to be back “home” in Montoursville, PA to capture Kellie and Matt’s incredibly special day! Kellie and Matt, thank you for sharing your love with us and filling our hearts with so much happiness! We wish you nothing but happiness and joy always!! Congratulations friends!

I can’t even begin to describe the millions of emotions that came flooding into my heart over Tom and Laura’s NY Finger Lakes wedding weekend! Leading up to their wedding, I had this excitement that I could feel coming out of my smile! When we received their invitation, I seriously got a little giddy! ;) First of all, it was a super super fun invitation, but second of all (and most importantly!), it meant that it was one step closer to being official that 2 of our very best friends were getting married!!! After 9 years of dating… they were officially becoming Mr. and Mrs.!

Ahh! Seriously, so many AMAZING memories came flooding back. Tom, Laura, and I were pretty much like the 3 musketeers from day 1 at Bucknell! Living just doors away from each other and having shared passions of pretty much everything! (social justice, leadership, community service, crafting ;), anything related to school spirit!… Tom, remember when you dressed up as Bucky?!? ;) haha.) We did pretty much everything together! And I can honestly say- those memories continue to fill my heart with so much happiness! Always! ;) So many of the memories that we share with Tom and Laura are the kind of memories that leave us laughing so hard that our cheeks hurt! ;)

Tom and Laura’s relationship has developed right before our very eyes. And as many of their family and friends joke about how long it has taken them to get to this point… I think we can all agree that we could not imagine it any other way! As we were driving to the rehearsal dinner, I said to Ryan, “I am so incredibly proud of Tom and Laura.” Their wedding was exactly how they dreamed it to be. They poured their heart and souls into creating a celebration that was perfectly them! And with 9 years of being together, they definitely know exactly who they are… together! And that is magical!

We absolutely LOVED every single minute of capturing this incredibly perfect wedding celebration for Laura and Tom! Laura and Tom… our hearts are exploding with happiness as we write this and share your photos! Knowing you will always have these special memories documented to look back on and smile so big your cheeks hurt makes our hearts happy! ;) Thank you for bringing so much happiness to our lives and making this world a brighter place every single day! We LOVE you guys and could not be more excited for you!! Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Wagner!!! WAHOOO! You ARE married!! XOXO!! Can’t wait to hear all about Bali!

Ok, I just have to give a shout out to Tom and Laura’s bridal party and family and friends! Tom and Laura are a little crazy (that’s another thing we have in common! ;) ) and they decided to DIY pretty much everything for their wedding! Over the past year while Laura has been traveling to and from countries in Africa and other third-world countries building schools (that is what she does for her job (so fun, right!!!)- Honestly she would probably be doing that anyway, even if not for work! ;) ), Tom and Laura and their families/friends made beer tasting boards, beer, wine, cookies, pie plates, chalkboards, whiskey barrel coffee tables, AMAZING invitations, and so much more. One of their main priorities for their wedding was to create a celebration that reflected who they are as a couple. They went out of their way to make sure all of the food and drinks were local and everything they did was done with the environment in mind. We know it is not always easy (ok, sadly, it is actually really hard) to plan a day that is completely unique to you and 100% stands by what is important to you! However, Tom and Laura made it happen and capturing it was like a dream! Seriously, it was AMAZING!

I honestly have no idea even where to begin this post! My emotions are all over the map right now, but most importantly, my heart is filled with Joy! Over the past few months, Ryan and I have been working on a project that we have had to keep silent. Over the last few weeks, we started many mornings off with a conference call with two of our favorite people in the world, we completed a MAGICAL photo shoot that filled an empty old factory with whimsical AMAZINGness, Ryan fully coded his first WordPress website, and we witnessed one of the most AMAZING women in our lives take an incredibly brave step to touch the lives of others! Wow.

On September 10, 2012, our mentor, friend, board of life director, pretty much second mom, inspirer (the list goes on and on), Dean Badal (or Amy Badal… but she will always be Dean Badal to us!) fought and won her battle with Breast Cancer. I remember receiving the call from our friend Jenna telling us that Dean Badal had breast cancer and she was having surgery that day to remove it. That call was one of those calls that you never expect to receive and never could imagine what to say or even do. I remember feeling heart broken and sick to my stomach, yet prayerful knowing that God works in mysterious ways.

Dean Badal has touched our lives in more ways than we could ever describe. In fact, every single student and alum that has been surrounded by her at Bucknell would probably say the same thing. Ok, scratch that… every single person who has been surrounded by her at one time or another would absolutely say she has touched his/her life in a special way!

When we heard the news that Dean Badal was fighting cancer, I knew in my heart that there was a reason. God had a plan and He was going to see her through this journey. Just a few weeks after her surgery, Dean Badal shared that she had already been thinking about what she could do to use this incredibly challenging time to make a difference for someone else. She always has incredible and crazy fun ideas! ;) (Maybe that is where we get our love for crazy ideas from!?! ;) In fact, I have no doubt that is where we get it from! ;)) Over the past year, Dean Badal has shared her idea of More Than October with us many times. However, in the midst of her incredibly busy schedule in her role as a Dean that she puts her whole heart and soul into, she had little time to focus on it. Jenna called us one day and said… ok, we are just going to do this. We are going to get the ball rolling and make this happen!

Weeks later… and an incredibly heart warming journey later, we could not be more excited to share with you, More Than October. The site is designed to share Dean Badal’s story, where early detection saved her life, and inspire women to take action for their own health. She has started a movement to get at least 1,000 women to sign the pledge to do a self-check or schedule a mammogram. This can save your life! Seriously, the statistics are real. 1 in 8 women will develop breast cancer over her lifetime. Please don’t hide from it. Take action for your health… your friends and family will appreciate it more than you know! Please go take action, sign the pledge, and send the message to all of the AMAZING women in your life to do the same.

We are beyond proud of Dean Badal (who might be one of the most private people we know) for sharing her story in hopes that it can inspire people to take action. It is not easy to put yourself out there, and she did. This life is so much bigger than ourselves, and Dean Badal has given us another example of just that! I am moved to tears knowing how blessed we are to have Dean Badal in our lives and to have the opportunity to help her make this project happen! Dean Badal… thank you for being YOU, for believing in us, for challenging us, for teaching us life lessons every single day, for using your “gifts” to impact the world around us, for clicking publish on your site! ;), and for always being an inspiring example of how to live this AMAZING life! We LOVE you Dean Badal!

You may remember this AMAZINGly sweet couple from their surprise proposal that we had the opportunity to capture in July! Now that I think about it… that was actually a really long time ago! ;) Gees! Time flies!

Well, I am happy to report that Carol and T.J. are still glowing… even more than ever… as they soak in this AMAZING time of their lives! We were so excited to hang out with them again last week for their Federal Hill Engagement Session! We could not wait to see Carol and T.J. again… but we were also super pumped to meet their dog, Banjo, that we had heard so much about! ;) Banjo is literally like their little son and a well-dressed little guy too! That bow tie… seriously, adorable! ;)

As we planned Carol and T.J.’s engagement session, they filled us in on their love for lawn games! They said they are known among their friends for their love of all games! You name it… they will play! Of course they already have their own corn hole set that includes their wedding date and names on the boards! And of course we had to include them in their photos! Last week, we soaked up the beautiful evening glow of the city in Federal Hill Park with a little corn hole action… and it was AMAZING!!!

As you can imagine, we had a blast hanging out with Carol and T.J. and we are so excited and so honored to be able to capture this AMAZINGly sweet and FUN time in their lives!!
