Why I Love Her
She laughs at my dance moves and loves my cooking. Her bright blue eyes light up the world and her whimsical happy-go-lucky attitude brightens any mood. Her heart is the core of our business and life together.
She makes my life more AMAZING every day and I can’t imagine a day without her by my side. Plus, she makes a fantastic peanut butter pie! That in itself is enough said!
Why I Love Him
He is an AMAZING cook and makes it really easy to want to be his sous chef! He has confidence that makes me truly believe that anything is possible! He is techy… but certainly not “nerdy”!
His strength and courage are inspiring and I love the way he draws me pictures and diagrams to describe the inside of a lens when I ask a simple question about why something looks the way it does. :)
What We Believe In
We believe in passionate love stories, unending sunsets and moments to soak each other in. We believe in high school sweethearts, true romance and LOVE that makes the world go round.
We believe in planning for the future, learning from the past but, most importantly, living in the now.
We believe in dreaming BIG dreams and then making them a reality. We believe anything is possible and that life is AMAZING!
Most importantly, we believe life’s most precious stories should never be forgotten, they should be captured in photos, shared with future generations and be remembered forever!
- Uniquely us
- Top 10
Breakfast in bed, cupcakes and wine, spontaneous dance parties, date nights on the couch and cooking together are just a few of the things that make our love story uniquely us. When life starts moving too fast, we force ourselves to pause for a moment, take a deep breath and just be. With our cozy Pottery Barn blanket and freshly brewed Ceremony coffee, we cuddle close on rainy days. Although we still have to make S’mores in our microwave (an outdoor fire pit is a must at our next home!), the nights just melt away as we hold each other tight. – photos by Justin & Mary Marantz
It started with a world map that hung on our wall. We dreamed of travel and adventures to far-off places. Books titled “1000 Places to See Before You Die” and “Learn to Speak Italian” started filling our bookshelves. Our “to-go” list was quickly exceeding our everyday “to-do” list. We said things like, “in 5 years we will travel to Italy, or go to the Napa Valley.” And then we realized that always planning and never doing is not exactly fun. So we remolded our lives, and built a business together that would allow us to start crossing off a few of those 1000 places. We are explorers at heart and love seeing new places. When we can combine our passion for travel with our passion for capturing life’s most amazing stories… well, that is true bliss! We invite you to join us! Check out our travel page to see a few of the places we’ve been and what is still on our “to-go” list. Maybe we will bump into you the next time we are in line at the airport! – photos by Justin & Mary Marantz
Our top 10
French Press: If we could wake up every morning in a coffee shop, we would. Well we would at least just to take in the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The next best thing is starting each day with a perfectly prepared mug of Ceremony coffee made in our Starbucks French Press.
Food and Wine Magazine: Our living room is filled with magazines, if only there was more time in the day to read each one from cover to cover. One magazine that we are always sure to read first is Food and Wine. We love flipping through each recipe to come up with ideas for the next week’s menu. Maybe one day, Ryan’s dream of being featured by Food and Wine magazine will come true!
Ladurée Macaroons: It was raining and the line was out the door. That wasn’t going to stop us from enjoying the perfectly delicious Salted Caramel Macaroons that only Laudree can make. Next time you are in Paris, be sure to pick us up a dozen! And if they don’t make it off the plane back, we understand.
Blue Sperry Top-Siders: Living near the water is a must for us. So, naturally a pair of Blue Sperry Top-Siders is a must for Ryan’s wardrobe. Not only do they look good, they don’t require socks! Now we just need to work on that dream of owning our own boat!
Red Velvet Cupcake Wine: Chocolate is by far one of the quickest ways to our heart (especially Liz’s). The perfect accompaniment is a wine described as “reminiscent of a blackberry chocolate cupcake.” A cupcake in liquid form…pure genius and pretty darn tasty too!
Ona Bags: We are out and about a lot so having a mobile office is a must. This will be especially true during our AMAZING Marriage Adventure next year! Our Prince Street and Union Street Ona Messenger Bags make traveling the country, photographing amazing couples, and working from the road super easy. We can fit our 15” Macbook Pro, a portable hard drive, iPhones, our camera and several granola bars inside with ease. Get your very own bag here.
Cuddling and a movie: Our favorite way to end any day is by cuddling up close while watching a movie rented at one of the 3 Redbox locations within walking distance of our house (yes, we are a little spoiled!). I prefer action movies but Liz usually wins out with the latest romantic comedy, even though she always falls asleep on my arm within the first 10 minutes! Hey, a happy wife = a happy life!
Soft-Shell Crabs: Living in the heart of the Chesapeake Bay region gives us access to some amazing seafood! One of Ryan’s favorites is fried soft-shell crabs! Woodberry kitchen makes one of the best soft-shell dishes, but being a chef at heart, Ryan recently decided to try making his own with fresh crabs from our local market. Check out the recipe Ryan used here.
Pottery Barn Hanging Lanterns: There is just something romantic about using candles for light instead of those harsh overhead lights powered by electricity that we all have in our homes. (Don’t tell Ryan – his college degree is in electrical engineering). The perfect addition to our rustic chic styled living room has definitely been our two hanging lanterns.
Paper App and Wacom Bamboo Stylus: We love to journal. However, we often find ourselves out and about with our journals back at home. (They usually don’t make the cut because we don’t want to overflow our Kelly Moore Thirst Relief Bag.) The perfect solution has been the amazing Paper App for our iPad and the Wacom Bamboo Stylus. Now we can create as many digital journals as we wish and also practice being the next Picasso.
