Meet Liz and Ryan

High School Sweethearts

Our love story began way back in 2001. I played hard to get for longer than Ryan would like to remember (he may or may not still be upset about it… but it’s ok, it’s all part of our story, right!?). During a picnic on a gorgeous September day, in between trying to scare squirrels away by throwing our grapes at them, Ryan asked me out and I finally said yes! We have been together since that very moment.

We both attended Bucknell University, where Ryan balanced his electrical engineering courses while playing on the football team and I balanced my management courses with every single student activity I could get my hands on. Needless to say, we enjoyed all of the in between moments together as our love continued to grow.

After graduation, we got married and moved to Baltimore! We have loved making Baltimore home as we continue to explore our passions of photography, travel, food, and community!

We have shared many adventures together, but our greatest adventure of all is being parents to our two sweet kiddos!

Photographers

When we moved to Baltimore, we started corporate careers. We did everything we thought we were supposed to do. We attended graduate school, bought a home and two cars, and spent more time working than we spent enjoying life together.

On January 1, 2009, we set a New Year’s goal to start a business together and put our energy where we could hopefully make a meaningful impact on people’s lives. We both had a love of photography… I grew up with a camera in my hand. In fact, I still have my first photo album that I put together of portraits of my cabbage patch doll when I was 5 years old. Ryan’s dad was always the “dad with a camera” at his sporting events. He was constantly surrounded by photography and with his engineering background had a whole different technical passion for the art!

We started our photography business on that New Years Day. What started out as a lot of research and a business plan for a children’s portrait studio, quickly became a photography business that specializes in photographing love.

We have since documented over 150 weddings in 14 states and 6 countries. It is one of our greatest honors to be able to document the lives of so many.

Community Loving Food Entrepreneurs

After our crazy 50 state Amazing Life Together RV adventure, we moved back to Baltimore in early 2016 and joined two friends in starting Well Crafted Pizza, a mobile wood-fired pizza kitchen. (I know, sounds crazy right?!?)

We had been talking with our friends Laura and Tom for years about this dream of starting a business that would give us the opportunity to bring community together through a shared passion of food. After a lot of dreaming, business planning, and overcoming challenges along the way, our 1949 Dodge Mobile Pizza Kitchen opened its doors in April 2016.

If you LOVE a good wood-fired pizza and celebrating community through delicious locally sourced food, come find Well Crafted Pizza at Baltimore’s 32nd Street Farmer’s Market or another one of our favorite hangouts (Union Brewing or Old Westminster Winery)! Ohh and did we mention, rehearsal dinners are one of our favorite events to cater! Don’t worry, our pizza events don’t interfere with our photography work. Fortunately, we have amazing partners who embrace our love of photography just as much as our love for pizza!

Amazing Life Inspirers

Just months before Ryan proposed to me, my parents divorced. After 25 years of marriage, it ended abruptly. Our worlds were rocked. Everything we thought we knew of marriage was now no longer true. It was up to us to figure out how to make sure our marriage did not end after 25 years.

In our years of photographing weddings, we quickly realized that we were not the only ones who needed positive examples of marriage in our lives! The wedding industry is full of inspiration for the wedding day, but the wedding day is only the beginning!

In October 2013, we launched the Amazing Life Together blog with a passion to share real married couples stories and to open the lines of communication surrounding marriages! After months of working on this passion project, we realized it was so much more. It was so much bigger than us.

In September 2014, we founded Amazing Life Together, a 501c3 non-profit organization, with a mission to inspire all couples to live a happy, healthy, and everlasting amazing life together.

In an effort to truly focus on this mission, we rented out our home in Baltimore, bought an RV, and traveled to all 50 states on the Amazing Marriage Adventure. It was our goal to document at least one married couple’s love story in each state. By January 2016, we had photographed and documented over 100 married couple’s love stories from around the United States. We compiled many of these love stories into the Amazing Life Together book that was released in 2017.
