These two. Ahh. They came into our lives at such a special moment and I will never forget the evening we received their inquiry email. Jeff had just proposed to Cathy a few days before and without much planned, they knew they wanted us to be their photographers. What an honor! Their email blew us away and will always hold a special place in our hearts!
Cathy and Jeff, wedding photographers as well from Galena, IL, started following along with our AMAZING Life Together site after we did the More Time for Love Webinar in April 2013. When they mentioned that is how they found us, we knew in our hearts they were definitely a couple that we couldn’t wait to photograph! Along with so many other incredible words, their email said:
“We love your heart for your clients, for marriages that thrive, and your fun personalities! Plus, you’re absolutely fabulous photographers!!!”
They get us. They know exactly where our heart is and you have no idea how much that means to us! Our passion stems so much beyond photography!!! But I am not going to lie, these photos make us HAPPY and we get pretty pumped knowing that Cathy and Jeff are going to have these special moments to look back on forever!!! They will always be reminded of their special love and happiness together!
Spending the day with them in Chicago was AMAZING! Their laughter and positive energy is so contagious! We are certainly blessed to have them in our lives as one of our couples, friends, and colleagues too! ;)

It is not often that we take on photo shoots outside of the realm of weddings, engagements & love stories. But over the past few weeks, we have been challenging ourselves a bit and taking on additional projects in an effort to raise money for BuildOn – the organization we will be going to Africa with in December to help build a school! It is our goal to raise $4,000 by the time we leave! We are currently at $2,453! Eeek… over half way there! ;)
These beautiful ladies contacted us because they needed some professional head shots for their performing careers! Melissa, one of our former brides is a professional singer and the rest of the ladies (including my beautiful cousin Jenna) all recently graduated from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and are starting their dancing careers! It is so much fun to hang out with artists who are so motivated and energized to live their dreams! We are certainly cheering them on and are their biggest fans for sure!
It has been an honor to not only work with these AMAZING friends to raise money for BuildOn, but to also help these ladies further their professional careers and live their dreams! And as an added bonus, it was really fun to get out of our comfort zone a bit and shoot some head shots… especially the ones at night! Ryan was geeking out over using the flashes and I was geeking out over the results! ;) So fun.

Ever since we posted the photos from Sarah and Trevor’s wedding, we have had all kinds of questions about why there was a Raven’s wide receiver and a real penguin at the wedding! ;) Believe me, when it was all happening, we were pinching ourselves too! ;) So to fill in the story, here is The Story Beyond from Sarah and Trevor’s wedding!
It is not often that I get to photograph the groomsmen with Ryan. However, for Sarah and Trevor’s wedding, it worked out perfectly that I would be able to join in the fun! As soon as we started photographing Trevor with his groomsmen outside of the Mansion House at the Zoo, one of Trevor’s groomsmen (who just happened to be running a little behind that day! ;) ) drove by with his window down frantically looking for a place to park! Of course while giving him a hard time for being late, the groomsmen just pointed him up the street and said park there quickly and then move your car later!
About 3 minutes later (not kidding, it wasn’t long at all) the security for the zoo came over and asked us if we knew who was driving “that car.” “That car” happened to be the car that the groomsman had just parked and he just happened to park Torrey Smith in. Whoops! ;) Of course everyone kind of just stopped in their steps and said wait… Torrey Smith is here?!? ;)
Now you have to understand, Trevor and Sarah are both HUGE Baltimore fans. Ravens and Orioles and everything in between! In fact, their toast given by the best man for the evening was all about their love for the Ravens! ;) It was so perfect that Torrey Smith just happened to be at the Zoo the day of their wedding!
Trevor and his groomsmen quickly jumped at the chance to have their photo with Torrey. And I must say, Torrey was incredibly willing and went out of his way to make Sarah and Trevor’s day! ;) Trevor invited him to the wedding, but he actually had another wedding to attend that evening (you know, Ray Rice?!? ;) )!
So anyway- that is the super fun story of how Trevor had an extra special groomsman for their wedding day!
And Tails, the Penguin… he was just hanging out at his home at the zoo and came by to say hi during cocktail hour!!! ;) So incredibly fun! Definitely a day we will never forget!
When we first met with Sarah and Trevor, I remember them saying that they wanted to treat their guests to a true Baltimore experience! Having a Maryland Zoo in Baltimore Wedding was sure to give their family a friends an experience they would never forget! I mean, Tails the Penguin was at their wedding! How cool is that?!?
Sarah and Trevor are two of the most laid back people and their personalities just light up the room. They didn’t fuss over the details or worry about anything at all (at least they didn’t show it! ;) )! You could see how full their hearts were just by seeing their bright smiles all day! And that joy just carried over to every single person that surrounded them!
We loved being a part of the joy that surrounded Sarah and Trevor! It was such an honor to be there to capture their love on this very special day! Sarah and Trevor- thank you for this special Baltimore treat! ;) We are so happy for you as you begin this next chapter in your love story! ;)

There is something AMAZING about a Sunday stroll through the paths of Patapsco Park!… especially with an AMAZING couple! Every single time we are in the park we say to ourselves, why do we not come here more often?!? ;) Patapsco Park is about 10 miles (if that) outside of the city of Baltimore and it makes you feel like you are in the middle of the back country!
Andrea and Sean suggested the location for their Patapsco Park engagement session because of their love of nature. And let me tell you, it was clear that this was their happy place! They made their session easy for us because they were so comfortable and clearly just LOVED being together especially in such a beautiful environment surrounding them.
It is a pretty special thing when we can walk away from an engagement session feeling refreshed and reenergized from our stroll through the park with some friends! ;) We loved every minute of it!
